This is great story to base a party on. Kids have the greatest imaginations and this story can really carry them away into a different world. This is an especially great theme for a First Birthday since you can easily play off of the Wild One theme.
The dessert table was the main focal point. There was a large backdrop behind the table with balloons on both sides. That backdrop really set things off right. The beautifully detailed cake and darling smash cake was made by the fabulous Sweet and Saucy Bakery in Newport Beach, CA. There were Wild Thing cookies, and rice Krispie treat number 1βs dipped in chocolate and a family member made baklava. The mom of the birthday boy found the cookies and Krispies on Etsy. We used a lot of wood serving pieces, wood white-washed letters, fur, and moss to really pull in the outdoor elements.
On a different side table were glazed donuts on a donut stand, a Wild Things book for the guests to sign, and above the table were photos of the little guyβs first year. It was hung on a stick wall art that was already there!!
The kids had kraft paper goody bags with a gift certificate for ice cream and a bag of chocolate rocks. The little ones under 5 all received a Wild Things book along with the cutest bundle of crayons made out of twigs! I LOVE when the little details come together. There was a small activity table and tent for the kids inside. Outside they had a bounce house and a live reptile show!
