Elegant Halloween Wedding

If you come to me and say you want a Halloween wedding, I know we are a great match!! I knew about this couple way before they even knew who I was. When my friends told me about them, I was IN!! I could barely wait to meet them!

This couple wanted their wedding dark, but elegant. I was able to help out with design in many ways. I worked with Karina from Karizma Events for the rental items and the centerpiece trees. She was also in charge of catering. They really wanted a memorial for the bride’s father and grandmother. Being of Hispanic heritage and having their wedding in late October, I suggested we create an ofrenda. Karina put it together and added in family photos. She created a beautiful memorial. One of the best I have ever seen.

For the centerpieces we used black manzanita trees. I knew we needed to have deep red amaranth, appropriately called Love Lies Bleeding, dripping from the branches and we added in floating tea lights and moss at the bottom of the trees. The bride was hoping to have napkins folded into bats, so I personally folded each napkin into a bat! Their photographer, Luis, had buttons made with their engagement photos. It is these types of details that I love the most.

To bring in some Halloween fun, we had horror themed cupcakes, and mini posters of the bride’s favorite scary movies. I surprised the couple and set an autographed photo of Robert Englund as Freddy Kreuger next to their cupcakes. It definitely brought a little tear.

The bride wore a white gown, but later changed into her black dress after the party began. The ceremony and reception were held in the same location. Their DJ, Mike of SoCal DJ Pros did a great job. Before the ceremony began, as the guests were coming in to take their seats, he played the full intro to Disney’s Haunted Mansion. During the cocktail hour was the fun Halloween music, including the theme song to Goosebumps. During the reception was dance music that kept everyone on the dance floor. We even brought out the LED light sticks. I LOVE those things!

If you are planning a Halloween wedding, use your imagination. There is no limit to the fun you can have.
