A Personal, Private Matrimony
40 guests, an ocean view, 3 tiers, and 1,000 steps. A wedding that seems so simple can be intricately complicated.
My clients came to me hoping to have their wedding in a very special and personal location. The challenge was the location. It had multiple levels and 3 different locations for the event activities. A ceremony on a private ledge over looking the ocean, a rooftop dinner, and dancing on the beach.
The guests needed to be able to navigate the locations and all of the steps involved. A tiered location is serious business. You have to make sure your guests know what is involved and make sure they are up for the challeng, not to mention wear the right shoes. We had to decide not to have a DJ because I couldn't guarantee they could safely set up anywhere.
They opted not to have a formal cake. They had cute desserts passed out to their guests down by the beach. There were chairs set up for the guests to just hang out together and relax with the ocean waves in the background.
The biggest obstacle was the dinner location. We had to measure and work around a low chimney and air vents from the home below. These were also low level trip hazards. After rearranging the tables three times we got it!
I had my amazing planner friends (Claudia , Time With Terrazas and Helayne, Road to Marriage) to help navigate the guests and make it a smooth and enjoyable process.
